National days of the week 2/13 – 2/17

There is a national day each and every day of the year. Here are the national days for this week.

Monday: National Clean Out Your Computer Day

This is the day to take some time out off your day to do needed care on your computers. Organize your files and folders, delete junk files, delete duplicated files and delete old files and programs not being used.

Tuesday:  National Ferris Wheel Day

This day is celebrated to honor the inventor of the Ferris Wheel. George Washington Gale Ferris was inspired and created the original Ferris Wheel.

Wednesday: National Gumdrop Day

Gumdrops are tasty, colorful, chewy candy that are made with gelatin and then coated with sugar. You could use gumdrops in cookies, decorate cakes or cupcakes, in popcorn cake, for crafts and for gifts. Percy S. Truesdell has the credit for the modern gumdrop.

Thursday: National Almond Day

Almonds are one of the most heart-healthy foods on the market. Almonds are filled with vitamin E, magnesium and fiber. Over eighty percent of the world’s almond are grown in California.

Friday: National Random Acts of Kindness Day

This day has grown in popularity each year. Random Acts of Kindness Day was originated in new Zealand.
