The JV Maroon baseball team shutout the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs in a solid victory on Tuesday, March 24. Colson Kostelnik picked up the win on the mound with Dallen D’Ambra coming in to close out the game and insure the shutout. The team had offensive production from the entire lineup and hopes to continue this team success as they take their 3-0 district record to Calhoun on Friday, March 27.

The Longhorn Varsity Baseball team improved to 4-0 in district play after defeating the Lamar Mustangs 9-1 March 24. Sarah Hudek started on the mound and gave the Longhorns a strong 5 innings allowing only 1 earned run on 2 hits while striking out as many. Ryan Harris came in and struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced in the 6th with Cristian Elizondo and Ty Ripoll closing out the 7th. Alex Shaver led the game off with a triple and Hunter Goodwin drove in the 1st run of the game. Brady Burns and Dylan Rock were each 2 for 4 with Rock having 2 RBI’s. Cole Ricci, Jon Kastens, Brad Greer, and Kyle Boudreaux each contributed hits with Kastens knocking in 2 runs. The Longhorns will host Calhoun on Friday, March 27 to finish the first round of district play.
