- Ancient Egyptians held their dogs in high esteem. When a pet dog would die, the owners would shaved off their eyebrows, smear mud in their hair, and loudly mourn for days.
- Bears have two layers of fur. The short fur keeps them warm, while the long layer keeps water away from the skin.
- Over a short distance a cat can travel at a top speed of approximately 31 mph.
- A group of ferrets is called a “business”.
- Most monkeys eat both plants and animals. Some will also eat dirt.
