Volleyball Players Continue Their Winning Streak

The Longhorn volleyball teams traveled to Angleton on Friday October 16th. All 3 teams remain unbeaten in district play with records of 7-0. The Freshman defeated Angleton with scores of 25-6 and 25-13. The JV took the Lady Cats down with scores of 25-21 and 25-13. The Varsity team took care of business in 3 straight sets winning with scores of 25-6, 25-14, and 25-12. This brings their winning streak to 23 games. Kill leaders for the Longhorns were Allyson Dernehl with 11 and Kennedy Prince with 9. Block leader was Mattie Ward with 12. Dig leaders were Audrey Tuttle with 11, Allyson Dernehl with 10, and Kirby Cuellarwith 10. Set assist leader was Abbey Messick with 22. Serve ace leaders were Allyson Dernehl with 4 and Abbey Messick with 3. Player of the match was #4 Kirby Cuellar with 10 digs and 8 serve receive passes. The Longhorns will play host to Calhoun Tuesday, October 20th at Longhorn Gym as they support Breast Cancer Awareness with their Pink Out Game. Freshman and JV take the court at 5:00 followed by Varsity at 6:00.
