SZA is a popular, new artist on tour for her latest album, Ctrl. At only 26 years old, SZA has already established her place in the music industry. One of the latest stops on her tour was Houston, Texas. She played at Warehouse Live in downtown Houston on October 3.

Her opening acts included a few smaller artists with insane talent, Smino and Ravyn Lenae. Ravyn Lanae is a beautiful, young singer who just graduated from Chicago High School for the Arts earlier in 2017. She is an up and coming R&B artist from Chicago.

After Ravyn, Smino, a popular Soundcloud artist, went on stage and put on a spectacular performance. At 26 he has over 73,000 followers on Soundcloud and has released two EP’s and an album earlier this year. Smino and Ravyn have been on tour with SZA for the last few weeks.

Both acts  warmed the crowd up before SZA went on to put on a spectacular show. The show featured a large light up prop that changed colors and spelled CTRL. While she has been on tour, SZA has been asking people in each city to donate supplies to Hurricane Harvey victims. She spoke on stage, letting everyone know that all money spent at the show would be donated right back to Houston.

Her charitable efforts have shown off her truly amazing personality, and her album has shown off her beautiful voice.”

SZA has been using her Ctrl tour in the best way possible: to provide extended relief efforts to those still  struggling from the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey. Her charitable efforts have shown off her truly amazing personality, and her album has shown off her beautiful voice.

The most popular song off of her latest album, Ctrl, is Love Galore, featuring rapper, Travis Scott. The song went platinum not too long ago, giving the singer her first ever platinum single. Along with going platinum, SZA has also collaborated with Maroon 5 in a new song titled “What Lovers Do”.

Her popularity has surpassed new heights due to her album’s popularity. Songs like “Drew Barrymore” give off a chill party vibe; the music video even features Drew Barrymore herself. Other songs like “Supermodel” and “Normal Girl” show girls that they’re not alone in how they feel about themselves.

SZA also had Kendrick Lamar featured on her album in a song called, “Doves in the Wind”. Kendrick Lamar is another popular staple in the music community, mainly in the rap/hip hop genre. James Fauntleroy and Isaiah Rashad are also featured in different songs on the album.

SZA’s latest album has been a hit among teens and adults alike, reminding all of us that everyone goes through tough times. She shows her vulnerability and puts all her emotions into each and every song, making a phenomenal album that people can relate to, whether you’re the 9-5 or the weekend.
