Varsity softball defeats Lamar in a blowout victory score of 13-2

The George Ranch Varsity softball team recently defeated the Lamar Mustangs Tuesday, March 12 with a blow-out score of 13-2. Madison McDonald carried the team with a strong game at the plate and in the circle. McDonald racked up four RBI’s on three hits for the Longhorns and homered in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings. McDonald allowed two earned runs, four hits and three walks while striking out four over six innings of work. George Ranch played a strong game with 13 hits including three extra base hits. The Longhorns scored six runs in the sixth on a fielder’s choice, a two-run single by Stephanie Money, a two-run error, and a sacrifice fly by McDonald. George Ranch scored three runs on an error after the first and an had RBI single by Sara Gonzales. The Longhorns also scored an RBI single by Ashley Kopps in the fourth, plating senior Jaylin Baldridge.
