On Saturday, November 5, 2011, Taylor Swift brought her Speak Now tour to Houston, Texas.
Over 50,000 fans, or as Swift called them, “hopeless romantics,” came to Minute Maid Park to hear Taylor tell her love stories. She started off the concert with “Sparks Fly,” and it was fantastic. From the dancers to the props and set, it really told the story of her songs. All of the props were spectacular, such as a giant bell that she dramatically rang during “Haunted.”
Taylor Swift does a great job at telling stories through her songs. She makes everyone feel a part of the action and writes stories that the audience can relate to, as if they were their own.
It seems that Taylor went out of her way to make sure the whole crowed got a good show. In the middle of the concert, she walked through the crowed to a little rotating platform in the back of the arena. There, she played a couple songs, just her with her guitar.
Taylor’s heart and energy for all of the songs really pepped up the crowed for the entire concert, so there was never a dull moment. One of the most lively moments was when her surprise guest, Nelly, came out to sing “Just A Dream” with her. The concert ended with “Love Story,” during which Taylor soared over the audience in a floating balcony, a perfect way to end the concert.
Houston was the last concert of Taylor Swift’s Speak Now tour, and it was truly enchanting.
