Upcoming Senior Events

As Senior Year comes to a close for the Class of 2014, the first GR graduating class to have been Longhorns since Day One, there comes a series of senior events to celebrate their hard work and dedication.

The ultimate epitome of Senior Year, the Senior/Junior Prom, was last Saturday, May 17, and seniors got dressed up and hung out with their friends all weekend.

The Senior Award Ceremony that honors the senior class with all their achievements in their classes and extracurriculars was on Monday, May 19. After years of hard work, the seniors were able to receive their graduation cords, accept their achievement awards, and get recognized for their scholarships.

The Senior Field Trip was on Wednesday, May 21. Seniors were able to get out of school and venture to Kemah with all their friends for the day just because they’re seniors.

On Friday, May 23, the seniors will receive their caps and gowns and be able to hang out in the cafeteria during the Senior Chill-Out Reception getting their yearbooks signed, taking pictures, and eating cake to celebrate their Senior Year.

Tuesday, May 27 will mark the Best Day Ever as the Theatre production of Mean Girls will debut. This play-adaption directed by seniors Princess Johnson and Haley Nelson, is sure to live up to it’s legacy.

Final exams will be a week early for seniors. From May 27 to May 30, seniors who are not exempt must take their last high school finals.

Graduation rehearsals on May 29 at 4 PM, will be in the competition gym where seating arrangements and commencement line-up will be practiced.

Finally, May 30 at 7:30 PM at the Merrell Center marks the culmination of the Class of 2014’s success as they graduate from high school and prepare for new beginnings to the rest of their lives as they move on from George Ranch.
