George Ranch senior and FFA member Nicole Stevenson won first runner up for fair queen at the Fort Bend County Fair on September 26, 2014.

Stevenson was one of many George Ranch students taking part in the annual events. The celebration kicked off with a parade that featured many George Ranch students from organizations including the cheerleading team, the marching band, and the FFA.

The Fort Bend County Fair is hosted in Rosenberg, Texas, and 2014 marks the 78th year that this tradition takes place. Each year, the fair hosts many of the same traditional events it had in the past, and adds new activities.

The attractions offered range from carnival rides and games to live concerts. The fair serves as an important community event in which students from all around the county are able to compete in pageants, livestock shows, rodeos, and cook-offs.

The festivities will continue until Sunday, October 5, 2014 with different events and activities each day. Be sure to check out the fair and come support all of our George Ranch students involved.
