The Longhorn Sophomore baseball team defeated the Terry Rangers by a score of 16-1 on Friday, March 19.   The Longhorns were led defensively by Marcus Hancock, who pitched a complete game and offensively by Kyle Curtis and Canon De Serf who were both two for three from the plate in the game. The win brings their district record to 1-1 on the year.

 

The JV Maroon baseball team defeated Terry on Friday night by a score of 23-0. Joseph Menefee struck out 11 batters in a 5 inning no-hitter to pick up the win for the Longhorns. 16 different Longhorns scored runs. Aaron Castellano and Jake Zatopek reached base successfully in each of their three plate appearances, with Castellano recording 3 RBIs and two runs scored, while Zatopek added 2 runs and 2 RBIs on a walk, a single, and a home run that was blasted off the scoreboard in left during the first inning. The team moves to 2-0 in district and will play Lamar Consolidated at 7:00 at home on Tuesday, March 24.

 

The Longhorn Varsity baseball team is now 3-0 in district play after defeating the Terry Rangers on Friday, March 19 by a score of 2-0. Kevin Kopps pitched the complete game shutout for the Longhorns allowing 3 hits while striking out 11.  The Longhorn had a combined 5 hits on the night with Dylan Rock owning 2 of those. Jon Kastens had a double while Alex Shaver had a triple and 2 runs. The Longhorns will travel to Lamar Tuesday, March 24th to take on the Mustangs.
