The JV Maroon baseball team defeated Foster 0n Tuesday, March 31st, by a score of 5-0 to remain undefeated in district play. Joseph Menefee pitched a complete game shutout striking out 10 batters and only allowing 5 base runners on 3 hits. Ty Abraham led the scoring with two runs scored on 3-4 hitting. Brad Armstrong also batted 3-4 adding 2 RBIs.

The Varsity baseball team moved to 5-1 in district after a loss to Foster by score of 6-2. Kevin Kopps went 5 innings on the mound allowing 3 earned runs on 7 hits while striking out 6. Carson McManus came in for an inning and 2/3, striking out 3, with Ryan Harris getting the last out. Garrett Gray and Dylan Rock had the only 2 hits for the Longhorns. Varsity improved to 6-1 in district play as they defeated the Angleton Wildcats 11-10 last Thursday night. Jon Kastens went 6 innings allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits while striking out 4. Sarah Hudek and Cristian Elizondo came in the 7th to try and close out the game. Ryan Harris got the save for striking out 2 of the 3 batters he faced with the winning run on 2nd base. Kevin Kopps led the offense and was a triple away from hitting for the cycle. Kopps led the 7th inning with a solo blast and ended 4 for 4 with 5 RBI’s. Brady Burns, Mitchell North, Garrett Gray, and Jon Kastens had 2 hits a piece with Bradley Greer, Kastens, Gray, and North each adding doubles.
