SOCCER:   The Longhorn Soccer team played in the Area round of the State Playoffs on Friday night against Port Neches Groves. After finishing the game 0-0 and going into double overtime the girls lost to the Indians in Penalty Kicks. This ended the girls fantastic season with a record of 17-4-1. Thank you seniors for all you have done over the past 4 years.

SOFTBALL:  The Varsity softball team beat the Lamar Lady Mustangs this past Friday in exciting fashion. The Mustangs struck first scoring a run in the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the fifth inning Kayte Martinez reached on an error and then Sydney Scott hit a homerun making the score 2-1 Longhorns. The score remained 2-1 until the top of the 7th when Lamar took advantage of some Longhorn errors and pulled ahead 3-2. Down to their final out in the bottom of the 7th the Longhorns offensive leader for the game Sydney Scott legged out a triple off of the left field wall. With a runner in scoring position and the Longhorns looking to tie the game London Diller hit a walk off homerun to win the game for the Longhorns 4-3. The team is now 3-1 in district and will travel to Port Lavaca to take on Calhoun on Tuesday.
