Howdie Kirby Cuellar!

Kirby Cuellar is a Senior who is a athletic person and has played volleyball  her whole life. Kirby tells us about how she fell in love with the sport she plays.

The Wrangler: How long have you been playing volleyball?

Cuellar: ” I’ve been playing for 5 years.”

The Wrangler: What do you love about the sport you play?

Cuellar: “I love Volleyball because of everything I have going on. It’s kind of like another world; I forget about everything but volleyball.”

The Wrangler: How do you manage to play and go to school?

Cuellar: “I know I have to get my school work done first. But the faster I get it done the faster  I get to go to the gym and play. So I just get started on my assignments fast.”

The Wrangler: Do you  plan on playing after high school?

Cuellar: “Yes, I’m playing at Hill Jr College.”

The Wrangler: What excites you about going there?

Cuellar: “I’m excited about all the amazing volleyball players. A lot of D1 players are recruited and it’s in a small town and that’s what I like .”

The Wrangler: Why did you want to be involved  in volleyball?

Cuellar: “My dad wanted me to start a sport and as soon as I started I fell in love.”

The Wrangler: Who inspires you to play?

Cuellar: “Kerri Walsh who is an Olympic beach volleyball player.”

The Wrangler:  Why do they inspire you?

Cuellar: “She has played volleyball forever and she inspires me to be better. I always like to watch her play to learn new things and to learn new ways of thinking about the game.”

The Wrangler: Do you plan on playing professionally one day?

Cuellar: ” I want to, but I really want to own my own volleyball gym when I grow up.”
