The Lady Longhorn varsity softball team jumped out to an early lead against Needville and captured a 17-0 victory Tuesday, Feb. 12 at GRHS.

The game was decided quickly as the Lady Longhorns exerted their will early with six runs in the first inning.  Ashley Kopps led off with a triple to center field, and Reagan Coss got on base with a fielder’s choice.  Sara Gonzales, Natasha Cabucio and Jaylin Baldridge all doubled, supplying the early offense for George Ranch.

Brittney Morse was lethal at the dish, going 2-3. She homered in the first and fourth innings, drilling the ball over the center field fence.

The Lady Longhorns scored three in the second inning, followed by eight in the third.  Madison McDonald singled and scored Stephanie Money, who tripled to right field.

The next home softball game is at home Tuesday, Feb. 19 against Foster HS.
