The Longhorn varsity girls’ golf team edged Foster High School by ten shots to finish in third place in the Fort Bend/LCISD district preview at River Pointe on Monday, Feb. 18 and Tuesday, Feb. 19. Nicki Oesch, Katelyn Spaulding, Aubrie Luckenbill, Grace Kolacny and Haley Foster headed home after day one nine shots out of the third, but were revamped on Tuesday and surpassed Foster with a team score of 399 to bring home medals.

Meanwhile, the boys’ varsity team captured first place after falling 14 shots behind Foster on Monday, narrowly defeating Elkins High School. Juniors Paul Ferrette, Will Ward, Manuel London and Zach Mull and Bobby Vega stepped onto the green with a purpose on Tuesday to pull the win with a team score of 324.

Individually, Ferrette landed third place with rounds of 74 and 81.
