On Saturday, Feb. 23, the boys’ track and field team competed in the 6th annual Seven Lakes Relays, finishing fifth out of thirteen teams. The Longhorns started the day off on the right foot with junior Chandler Heikkla’s fourth place finish in the 5000 meters with the time of 16:20. Alex Shaver brought home the silver medal in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash and Joshua Okonye brought home the bronze in the 200 meter dash and finished 5th in the 100 meters. Jonah Font finished fifth in the 300 meter hurdles. Alex Thomas finished sixth in the pole vault and Trevion Wyche finished fifth in the discus. Junior Jordan Janer finished sixth in the 800 meters with a new school record of 2:00. Stanley Ikebunam brought home the silver medal in the 400 meters. The Longhorns finished the day and competition with a bronze medal, school record shattering performance in the 4X400 relay with a time of 3:23 by Ethan Yeamen, Ifeanyi Amushie, Alex Everett and Stanley Ikebunam.
