A few weeks ago, President Trump took a big step as President of the United States and as a world leader. He announced that he would not only bring the space program back, but he would also be doing something that many world leaders wouldn’t dream of doing— meeting with Kim Jong-Un, the dictator of North Korea.

North Korea is a ruled by a complete dictatorship that comes from a dynasty.  Life in North Korea is extremely difficult, and the citizens have no freedom whatsoever. Not to mention the fact that Kim Jong-Un is considered a psychopath and he wants to shoot nuclear missiles at pretty much everyone but Russia and China, which are his only allies..

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has met with Kim Jong-un’s sister, but Trump will be the first President of a free country to have a meeting with the dictator himself. How the meeting will go is a mystery, but President Trump has a clear vision of how he wants everything to play out. “Sanctions will remain until an agreement is reached.” tweeted President Trump. He also claimed that a meeting was being planned and that the agreement he spoke of is that North Korea will settle for denuclearization.

Where the meeting will take place is still a mystery, but President Trump says that it will happen no later than May.  Would Kim Jong-Un be allowed to even come close to America, and would it be safe for the President to enter North Korea? Trump is currently planning the meeting, but something like this may need to be carefully thought out because military and secret service protection may be strongly needed. A meeting place that is neutral to both countries may also need to be carefully chosen. After all, this is a big step for our president, our country, and the world.
