Freshman Maroon Football Scores Away Victory Against Angleton

The Freshman Maroon football team traveled to Angleton on Thursday night, September 10, and came away with a 34-12 win against the Wildcats. Despite turnovers in the 1st quarter, the team yielded no touchdowns. The offense was able to get it done in the 2nd after Chima Amushie scored the first touchdown. Quarterback Antonio Jackson threw two touchdown passes to receivers Zach Hunton and Quintin Jackson. He also connected with Kyle Curtis for a two point conversion. Brent Ugo also scored another touchdown before going into the half. The Longhorns added two more touchdowns on the ground with Jackson and Ugo both finding their way into the end zone. The whole defense did a great job forcing several fumbles throughout the game. Brad Armstrong had a strip, and Jayson Baldridge had a pick. The Longhorns are now 7-0 on the season and 3-0 in district. They will continue district play on Thursday, September 17, as they host Lamar Consolidated.
