Great anticipation bubbled within the George Ranch Golf Team after promising results during district previews meant that the team may have a chance at winning Golf Districts. However, due to poor luck and heavy competition, the George Ranch Golf Team fell just short of qualifying for regionals.

The weather on the first day of Districts (March 29) was unfavorable at best, as the area fell under a wind advisory, making higher shots more difficult and forcing players to change up strategies. Mitchell Maier shot the lowest score with a with a score of 74, followed by Jeremy Nguyen (80), Niklas da Silva Ekberg (89), Shawn Chen (92), and Yeeva Tsewang (102) who played while being sick.

The combined top four scores meant that George Ranch had scored a 335, placing them in third. Ridge Point led the Tournament with a combined score of 308, followed by Clements who scored a 311.

The second day of Districts (March 30) saw a delayed start due to thunderstorms in the morning. The delayed start also meant that the players would play nine holes instead of 18. Mitchell Maier shot the lowest score with a score of 38, followed by Jeremy Nguyen (43), Niklas da Silva Ekberg (46) and Shawn Chen (46). Yeeva Tsewang could not make it due to being ill.

George Ranch finished third with a total score of 508. Both Clements and Ridge Point qualified for regionals. Mitchell Maier qualified for regionals individually after placing second in the tournament. Melanie Maier also qualified for regionals after finishing first in the girls’ side of the tournament.
