Longhorns for Coyotes
We stand in solidarity for our beloved Coyotes.
September 8, 2022
Almost four months ago the world stood in shock as yet another senseless act of violence was inflicted upon an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas. This latest mass school shooting quickly claimed the lives of 21 people , making it the deadliest shooting in the history of the Lone Star State.
Because of the emotional impact the Uvalde shooting had on many Texans, our Longhorns took this past Tuesday, (September 6th, 2022) to stand in solidarity with all of the Robb Elementary School Coyotes, as they began their first day of the school since the shooting on May 24, 2022.
“Please join us by wearing maroon on Tuesday. Let’s show the Uvalde community our #MAROONTRACK caring spirit as we unite to support and encourage them to have a smooth start to their new school year, ” a George Ranch’s student council representative said.
Our Longhorns showed up and showed out, to say the least, as the GRHS students, faculty and staff wore our common school colors with Robb Elementary to pay homage to our brave and courageous Coyotes.
As we spend the rest of our school year tackling all life may have to offer, let us all take a moment to remember how precious life is, and above all, we shall never forget those whose spirits now grace the halls of Robb Elementary, reassuring their surviving teachers, friends, and family members that a change is on the horizon.
