Howdy Longhorns! Welcome to the 11th rendition of the Longhorn Sports Report and potentially the last of our fall section. This week we have Girl and Boys Basketball tipping off, results from the Girls XC team going to State, and the first round of UIL Football Playoffs.

Starting with football. George Ranch defeated FB Elkins 21-14 last Saturday at Traylor Stadium. This win solidifies 3rd place in 20-6a play and a spot on the Bi-District playoffs. The four teams to make it out of our division are FB Ridge Point, FB Hightower, George Ranch, and FB Clements. The Longhorns have their work cut out for them as they will match up against the 19-6A Cinco Ranch Cougars at 7 PM, on November 11th, and Jack Rhodes Stadium in Katy. A spot in the second round is on the line this Friday. Lets Go Longhorns!

Coach Dutch’s Longhorns Girls XC participated in the 2022 Texas State Meet last Friday at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas. This marked the first time in school history we had a full team of Longhorns in a states XC meet. The girls finished 13th overall in the state after some rough weather and conditions in RR. Congratulations on a history making season for your Lady Longhorns XC Team!

Girls basketball tipped their season off with a program sweep of Klein Forest on November 8th. We wish good luck to our lady longhorns in hopes of a great hoops season.

Boys Basketball tips off their 2022 season November 12th at Katy High School when they take on the Katy Tigers in a non-district match. We wish good luck to our Longhorns players in hopes for a comeback season this year.

That wraps this week’s edition of the Longhorn Sports Report. Next week will feature the potential first edition of the Winter Sports report. Good luck to all our athletes!
