Howdy Longhorns! Welcome back to the 6th edition of the Longhorn Sports Report Winter Edition. This week we cover more district matchups across multiple sports, starting with basketball and transitioning to soccer.

Coach Henry’s Boys Varsity squad lost a narrow 46-43 match against FB Bush on January 25th and lost a gritty battle 57-44 against FB Hightower on January 29th.  UPDATE: The Longhorns dropped a 50-39 decision to FB Dulles on Wednesday, February 1st.

Coach Trotter’s Girls Varsity squad also lost a narrow 59-54 match versus FB Bush and were outplayed by FB Hightower 79-41.  The Lady Longhorns started February off in fine fashion, beating the FB Dulles Lady Vikings, 49-39 Wednesday at The Ranch. They wrap up their season next Wednesday, February 8th, against FB Elkins.

Boys Varsity Soccer lost a tight 2-1 battle against FB Ridge Point on January 25th and beat FB Bush in a high scoring affair 4-3. (SR) Tobias Herrera bagged 2 goals vs Bush with (JR) Eduardo Scotia and (SR) Johnathan Kayizi picking up the other two. UPDATE: The ‘Horns lost 3-1 to an impressive FB Hightower side on Wednesday, February 1st, to wrap up their week.

Girls Varsity Soccer drew to -0-0 tie with FB Ridge Point and broke their 20-6a undefeated streak as they lost 2-1 to FB Bush.  UPDATE: The Lady Longhorns got back into winning ways in dominating fashion, thrashing the Hurricanes 8-0. The Longhorns sit one game behind FB Bush in what could be a tightly contested 20-6a title race that is a must watch.
