Longhorn+Sports+Report+Week+Four

Howdy Longhorns! Welcome back to another edition of the Longhorn Sports Report. This was another very successful week for sports here at The Ranch so let’s dive right in.

Coach Cavallo’s Football Program continues to win! The hot Longhorns took down FB Clements 45-21 at Rowdy Traylor Stadium. This marks the Longhorns opening game in 20-6A play and boy was it a good one. Running Back Jaden Shelton rushed for two long touchdowns and was on the receiving end of a long 43 yard receiving touchdown after QB Deion Drinkard dumped off a screen pass to JS. Longhorn defense continues to dominate after holding the Rangers to 21 points and getting another INT from (SR) Tre Aikens. The Longhorns play 2-1 FB Austin Bulldogs Saturday, September 16th, at Hall Stadium. Show up and Show out Longhorns!

Lady Longhorn Volleyball played three times since we last spoke, going 2-1 in those games with wins versus FB Bush and FB Hightower. The lone loss came against first place FB Ridge Point. To date, GR is in 3rd place in 20-6A play with a record of 16-14 overall and 4-2 in district play. The Lady Longhorns host FB Dulles at The Ranch Friday, September 15th. Wear gold if planning on attending!

Longhorn Tennis participated in the Remembering Ike Tournament finishing 2-1 after three matches with Dobie (19-0), Pearland (11-8), and Friendswood, (8-11). The Longhorns travel to Clear Springs High School for a dual with the Chargers. Good Luck!

Both teams have a big weekend ahead of them as they travel up to College Station, TX for the Texas A&M Classic and then head to Nottingham Park for the Spring Branch Invitational.

Both Longhorn Water Polo teams lost to reigning state champs Foster High School this past Tuesday, September 12th. Both programs travel to the Fort Bend Natatorium as they take on FB Hightower, Tuesday, September 19th at the FBISD Natatorium.

That wraps it up for another week! Make sure to join us next week as well have more results from around campus right here on the Longhorn Sports Report.
