The Longhorn Varsity softball team defeated the Lady Mustangs Tuesday, April 8th with a score of 6-3. The Longhorns executed early, scoring 2 runs in the second inning. Emily Rimes started things off in the second with a double and Alyssa Curts followed with a single. Lamar answered back and made the game close with a score of 4-3 in the 6th, but solid pitching by Alexis Tovar kept the Mustangs in check. The Longhorns surged forward with hits by Natasha Cabucio and a squeeze bunt by Emily Rimes scoring Stephanie Money.Longhorn defense held tight in the 7th securing the victory for the team.
