The Varsity baseball team traveled to Angleton last night to begin district play and came back with a 6-1 win. Will Gay started on the mound for the Longhorns and went 6 innings only giving up 4 hits and 1 earned run, while striking out 7. Jonathan Kastens came in to close out the game giving up only 1 hit and striking out 1. The offense was lead by Kyle Owen who was 2 for 4, Stone Garrett who was 2 for 3 with a double and RBI, and Chad Romere with clutch hits going 2 for 3 and driving in 3 runs. Cameron Boudreaux and Will each had a hit and an RBI. The Longhorns will finish up tournament play Thursday, March 6 at Langham Creek and return to district play Tuesday, March 11 at home.
