Longhorn sub-varsity softball played in the Katy Invitational. Lauren Chubon went 1-2, but George Ranch still fell to Katy 3-2 in six innings on Thursday, March 21 at Katy High School. Chubon got on base twice the game for George Ranch. She also drove in one runner. She tripled in the fourth inning. Lupita Nowak struck out eight batters and allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over 5 1/3 innings.
In the second game of the day, the Longhorns beat Memorial 7-6 in four innings behind Sydney Scott, who had three RBIs and tripled in the second inning. Memorial jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the top of the first and George Ranch answered back by bringing home Brianna Dixon. The Longhorns also scored five runs in the second. George Ranch scored on an RBI single by Perrie Fraizer, a two-run triple by Scott, an RBI single by Amy Escobar, and an RBI double by Nowak. George Ranch again scored one in the third.
