Vampire Weekend - Modern Vampires of the City /// It is hard to say anything else about the brilliance of Vampire Weekend’s newest album without sounding banal or trite: Modern Vampires has already been included in several “Best Albums” lists of major music publications. Even better is the fact that in a large amount of these lists Modern Vampires is placed at number one. And though I am often a firm believer that such lists often lack credibility, Modern Vampires fully deserves every bit of acclaim that it has received. It is Vampire Weekend’s third album and may well be known as their magnus opus. Modern Vampires is the culmination of Vampire Weekend’s sound. It is a cohesive, fantastically produced, lyrically strong album. And it is deserving of all the acclaim and attention.
