Varsity Football Games Schedule:
October 13th – 7:00 pm Brazoswood (Home) Thursday
October 21st – 7:00 pm Pearland (Away)
October 28th – 7:00 pm Alief Elsik (Home – Parent night)
November 4th – 7:00 pm Alief Taylor (Away)

CROSS COUNTRY:  The girls Cross Country team competed in the Cypress Woods Invite on Saturday, October 1st,  and placed fifth overall out of sixteen teams. Junior Captain Theresa McComiskey placed eleventh overall running a personal best and this puts her second overall in the standings for District 23-6A. Brooke Johnson, Ruhi Patel, CoCaptain Katia Davis and Sydney Delgado all ran personal bests in which contributed to the overall placing. The Girls Junior Varsity Placed seventh overall out of fifteen teams. The Top five finishers for the Longhorns were Ramsa Kazi, Hayley Lindstrom, Kenia Washington and Cami Lidisky. The Longhorns will close the regular season before vying for another district title as they will compete in the Clear Lake Invite October 7th at Miramar Park in Seabrooke, Texas.

VOLLEYBALL:  The Longhorn Volleyball squad traveled to Alief Taylor and came back with a program sweep. The freshman squad started the night off by defeating the Lady Lions with scores of 25-10 and 25-13. The JV team followed suit by winning with scores of 25-10 and 25-10. The varsity volleyball team took down Alief Taylor in 3 sets with scores of 25-5, 25-4, and 25-18. Kill leaders were Valerie Valerian with 17 and Audrey Tuttle with 8. Set assist leaders were Olivia Gray with 12, Alaina Lanik with 8, and Sam Garza with 8. Block leaders were Cassie Coker with 3, Katie Armstrong with 2, and Valerie Valerian with 2. Dig leaders were Kristen Garcia-Rameau with 15 and Cheyenne Horst with 11. Serve ace leaders were Kristen Garcia-Rameau with 6 and Brianna Franklin with 3. Serve receive leaders were Valerie Valerian, Kristen Garcia-Rameau, and Cheyenne Horst with 5 each. Congratulations ladies on a job well done.

SWIM:  GRHS competed in the Spartan invite with several schools including seven lakes, Cinco Ranch, and Cy Creek. Girls were fourth overall and boys were sixth. Kate Hartman, Riley Murray, Gracie Liang, and Charlotte Johansen placed second in the medley relay. Camp Priest won the 50 freestyle and placed second in the 100 breaststroke. Gracie Liang won the 50 butterfly.  Riley Murray placed second in the 100 freestyle. Marisa Liang placed second in 50 Breastroke. GRHS will compete in the Exhibition LCISD quad meet on October 4th.

TENNIS:  The varsity longhorn tennis team took on Alief Taylor the night of October 3rd. The team walked away with an 18-1 victory which brings their district record to 4-1. Monday night was also senior night. We would like to take a moment to thank our eleven seniors for all they have done for the program over the past four years. Thank you; Hannah Rosenbaum, Corrine Saha, Megan Foster, Liz Cervantes, Sara Grace, Aisha Sheikh, Josh Joe, Will Blanco, An Nguyen, Jeremy Harvey, and An Nguyen.

VARSITY FOOTBALL:  Our varsity football team suffered a tough loss on the night of September 30th against the Dawson Eagles making us 1-2 in district play. Alex Fontenot, and Quintin Morris both contributed in scoring efforts. October 13th, come out and support our Longhorns as we work to get back in the winning column. We will take on the Brazoswood Buccaneers; game time 7pm at Traylor Stadium.
