Boys’ and girls’ JV swimming finish third and fourth in first district championship

The Junior Varsity Swimming team competed in their first district championship this saturday with the boys finishing in third place and girls finishing in fourth.
The relay results were as following: Lydia Masters, Zena Gittens, Carolina Perez and Kristina Gomez finsihed second place in the girl’s 2011 freestyle relay. Likewise, Kyle Krush, Justin Treadwell, Esteban Perez, and Alec Munoz also finished second place in the boy’s 200 freestyle relay. The boys also finished second in the medley relay with Miguel Garza, Kyle Krush, Alec Munoz and Justin Treadwell competing. For the 400 freestyle relay, the girls finished fourth with the group of Carolina Perez, Hanna Have, Zena Gittens, and Kristina Gomez while the boys finished second with Miguel Garza, Esteban Perez, Justin Treadwell and Alec Munoz.
In the individual competitions, Alec Munoz finished second in the 100 butterfly. Kristina Gomez also finished in second place in the girl’s 50 freestyle and eighth in the 100 freestyle. Kyle Krush competed in the 200 IM finishing third and in the 50 freestyle fining sixth. Miguel Garza finished third in the boy’s 100 backstroke and eleventh in the 100 freestyle. Lydia Masters finsihed fourth in the girls 50 freestyle while also finishing sixth in the 100 breastroke. Justin Treadwell and Hannah Haver also finished in sixth place in the boy’s and girl’s 100 breastroke respectively. Hannah Haver also finished fourteenth in the girl’s 50 freestyle while Carolina Perez finished tenth. Esteban Perez who competed in the 100 freestyle finished in eighth place and Zena Gittens finished ninth in the 100 breastroke.
