The iconic Chanel & Fendi creative director, Karl Lagerfeld, has passed at the age of 85 in Paris following a short and sudden illness. Lagerfeld was the creative director at Chanel from 1983 until his death. He was also the creative director of Fendi from 1965 until his death. He was an important part of the fashion industry for over 60 years.

Lagerfeld began his fashion career when he won a coat designing contest in the mid-50s. He became famous for reviving the dying Chanel brand in the 80s. He transformed Chanel into the influential luxury fashion house that it is now. He also had his own eponymous brand.

He was not only a genius when it came to design, Lagerfeld was also a photographer and artist who worked throughout his entire life.

Lagerfeld was a German born fashion designer, known for his signature white hair and sunglasses. He was one of the most influential designers of the 20th/21st century, and his memory will forever live on within the Chanel brand.
