The election process is not starting until November of next year, but campaigns have already begun, and some have ended already.
At the beginning of the campaign, there was a total of 28 democrats and 4 republicans running for president.
There are now 15 democrats and 3 republicans that are running for president that are still holding on strong and running for their views on the Economy, Government, laws, rights, the people, and the country.

After months of a tough competition, there have been 13 democrats and 1 republican that have dropped out of the election.

The republican that dropped out was Mark Sanford. Sanford felt that it was impossible to get his message across during the impeachment inquiry.

Kirsten Gillibrand was the first woman candidate to drop out of the elections. As it was going well in the beginning, she attended the September debate which she did not qualify for. She stated she will still work towards women’s equality and women running for congress.

Beto O’Rourke has also dropped out of the presidential election in early November. Beto dropped out due to low funds and the momentum of the campaign was not what he was hoping for.

Most recently, Kamala Harris has dropped out unexpectedly. She was at one point the biggest competitor against Donald Trump but unfortunately dropped out due to financial issues.

Even though some Democrats have officially ended their campaign, there are many still competing for that special spot of being president. Michael Bennet, for example, is currently focusing his campaign on agriculture, gun laws, LGBTQ issues, and more.

Mike Bloomberg, mayor of New York from 2002 to 2013,  announced his run for the presidential election in 2020. He was a former Republican but now for his campaign, he changed his party to democratic. Bloomberg is focusing his campaign on gun control, health care, and climate change.

Another strong competitor is Joe Biden. Biden was the 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017. His campaign mostly focuses on endangered species and animal protection.

The Republicans are left with  Trump, Joe Walsh, and William Weld. The Republicans that are currently in the race are having a tough campaign since Donald Trump, because he started his campaign right when he joined the office. William Weld though did state he was challenging Trump in Mid-April for the GOP nomination. Weld’s campaign is to make opportunities for Americans and for equality which he states that’s how America should be.

Then there’s Joe Walsh. Walsh clearly states his opinions on former people who have been in office or are running for office. He has even talked negatively about Trump and speaks out about how he can do better.

As the elections nearss the candidates will stay busy trying to develop their campaigns to gain the peoples’ trust and to make America how it should be.
