Blood Drive: Everyone Can Save a Life

The bi-annual Gulf Coast Regional Blood Drive took place on Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at George Ranch High School.

Each year, the event is hosted and organized by National Honor Society for both students and teachers to donate blood. This year, there were 120 donors and 130 units of blood overall. This made for a grand total of 266 lives saved.

“It ran smoothly,” NHS president of service Alexis Elder said, “I was surprised by the number of walk-ins we had. It was great to see everyone.” The blood drive is held once each semester so students and staff can have the opportunity to contribute to the community and save someone’s life.
