Boys’ Basketball

Freshman A – The boys’ Freshman A team beat the Lamar Mustangs 59-41 on Friday, February 6. Standouts on offense were Marvis Odia, Dylan Swain and DJ Ray. Standouts on defense were Matthew Burger, Josh Okoye and Darius Russaw.

JV – The Longhorn JV team lost a tough game to the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs. The team was led by great scoring from Langston Williams and big play inside by Chuckwuma Ogbonna.

Varsity – The Longhorn Varsity boys’ basketball team defeated the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs 58-47. The team was up from the opening tip and never gave up the lead. The team was led in scoring by Lennox Jones, Quintin Morris and Ndy Eze who all scored in double digits. D.J. Thomas and Chinedu Okoye battled inside all day. The win brings the team to 15-7 overall and 5-2 in district.

Girls’ Basketball

The Longhorns took on Lamar February 6.

JV – The JV girls kept Lamar in single digits, beating the Mustangs 39-8. The leading scorers were Chidube Ogbonna with 10 points and Hannah Agner with 9 points.

Varsity – The varsity girls fought to the end of the last second, but came up short to Lamar, 42-47. The leading scorer was Julia Schwake with 22 points.
